For Finn's birthday we had a Zoo Party! It had been puring all week, including Sat. morning, but we decided rain or shine "we are going to the zoo." As we waited to get in, the clouds parted and the sun came out to celebrate his birthday! It was beautiful weather for the duration of the visit.

Finn touched one of the Stingrays, but it was purely accidental and neither he or the Stingray seemed all that pleased about it.
Perrin was unimpressed by the Zoo, probably because he was confined to a stroller for the majority of the trip. So most of his pictures look a lot like the above shot.
Finn was trying to figure out if this statue was real or fake. He never did quite figure it out.
Finn wanted a monkey cake, so this was his birthday cake while everyone else ate monkey cupcakes.
Anyway, happy birthday my little man!!!

I have been experimenting with our new camera and am posting some of the outcomes. There are some cute photos of my beautiful test subject (and niece) Rheanna: http://kathrynpoduskaphotos.blogspot.com/
Hope the new year is treating people well!

Halloween Fever... literally
So, after weeks of looking forward to Halloween, sewing costumes, planning Halloween activities for the whole week, etc, the big day came. We all got ready for the first event of the night, the ward party. (Caleb playing the part of Flash Gordon, Finn as DJ Lance Rock, and Perrin and I coordinating outfits as a bank robber and the cutest sack of cash you'll ever see.)
What you can't tell in the above photo is that Perrin has a fever of 102 degrees. He is such a happy baby that we didn't really catch on until we were 5 minutes into the party... at which point I had to take him home and go into worried mother mode (swine flu is an ever-present fear of ours).
And got the same fever the morning after Halloween. We had two very sick children for 2 days but I was pleased as punch that Finn got to trick-or-treat in full health after the ward party. And, boy, did he trick-or-treat. He could barely lug around his bucket of candy but refused to let go of it so he dragged it from house to house yelling "more houses, more houses!" He was in heaven!Posted by Kathryn Poduska at 12:18 PM 2 comments
